about

Originally written and recorded by Leaderdogs for the Blind in 1995, the song's lyrics are about the criticism 80's metal pioneers STRYPER received from the church (which should have been supporting them). The song's main point is "the plankeye effect" (See Matthew Chapter 7, verses 3-5).

Asche has loved this song for years and was excited to do a cover of it for this album. Even better, Lyndon & Derek from Leaderdogs accepted the invite to collaborate and feature on the track!

lyrics

“You ought to stop playing God… Because you are not good at it and the position is taken.” “What’s the matter with you? You’re acting like a self-appointed public avenger.” “We’re on the same side.”
The story is swaying | I hear what you’re saying, but haven’t been paying attention here | I’m hanging back leaning and you still come swinging ‘cause you hate the ringing scream in your ear | Down – you were always in my way of reaching out! Tripped up by your hand, you bring me down! | Heed this one suggestion: Don’t point and ask questions if your own confession is eating you | If my heart would harden, would you pay my pardon? | And maybe your garden needs weeding too…
